Here are a few ideas off the top of my head. Anybody got any other suggestions? 1. A song about an item of clothing 2. A song about some form of transport 3. A funk song 4. A love song for Valentine's Day.

Something like:
I've run out of pant, I'm not phased I can wear the same pair for days

Excellent - you're half way there.

never mind March song... still trying to finish this month's entry, but failing due to complete quiet being required at home tonight, making recording final vocals next to impossible. Pleading for clemency from Rob...
Like three of your ideas, Christian, but not keen on a love song idea! Funk may be a more difficult one to nail, but a challenge!

Like you, Phil, I'm struggling to get my song recorded, except it's because I'm struggling to finish writing it.
Thoughts on a funk song: I saw James Brown and I don't think I can do it. Possibly, all the more reason to try.

Sorry for being so absent. Well, on the face of it 'Funk' seems popular but I quite liked 'an item of clothing'. I think it may be too late for 'Love' as it would be judged in March. Shall I just make a decision???

'Funk' seems like a good music style to challenge us, so happy to go with it. I suppose those who wish to could include references to items of clothing / transport!

My vote is a song about clothing.

Clothing seems a good 'fit'... so I'm with you, Christian.

So, for April are we doing funk?

I quite like the idea of funk, but i did sense it wasn't that popular when suggested last month.

I'm happy to get the funk out, but I don't think Stephen C is a fan of genre tasks.

True I don't like to be limited to a genre, but if people's funk juices are starting to flow I wouldn't want to cause a blockage. Actually since Christian mentioned this to me I've been humming a funk riff to myself. As long as we're allowed to parody I'm ok with this.

I though I'd like this task but Julie is brutally rejecting everything I come up with, flatly declaring 'that's not funk, it's too plinky-plinky.' Stephen, if you've already got a riff you're happy with, you're ahead of me.

Tim, I think you've got to start with the bass. On his own, Nile Rodgers would sound the plinkiest of plinkers. (Though I'm not an expert funkster either, so what do I know)
