As you may know, I am a HUGE fan of the old crooners; people like Nat 'King' Cole and Frank Sinatra. I have been struck recently by the number of songs they recorded that dealt with the subject of love (about 99%) but more surprising was the number that were then tied to the passage of time; songs like 'September Song', 'Autumn Leaves' and 'It was a very good year'. In the modern-ish era, Sting recorded 'Seven Days', The Cure 'In Between Days and The Doobie Brothers did 'Minute by Minute' and I'm sure there are countless others examples.
So my idea for September's task is that we have to compose a song that hooks itself to the passage of time. It can be minutes, days, months, seasons, years or any other passage of time marker.
It's quite late in the month, so we'll just go for this and you can moan about me later!

Rob, I'm happy with all your suggestions for the coming months' tasks. There are also a lot of great suggestions on the "suggestions" thread which will keep us going next year.

Thanks Mike. I do look on there occasionally for inspiration but if there's anything specific from there that you have in mind, please feel free to highlight them for me (and the same goes for everyone.)
Hope you're well.
