I just read an article about a band from the 1960s whose 'B' side 'Amen, Father' featured a drum break that has allegedly been copied 1500 times. So in the spirit of plagarism, I thought we could do a 'use a famous or not so famous sample as the basis for a song' month. I'm thinking 'under Pressure' 'ice ice baby' (not that I'm suggesting rapping! I guess the sample should be a musical phrase of at least a bar. Certainly it should be more than just a single note. Comments and observations greatly appreciated.

Good idea Rob - I'd be very happy to do a song based on a sample (musical or otherwise) Suggest we don't worry about sample clearance at this stage!

I'm enjoying the challenge this month but, as of 31st, it is still a work in progress. I'm hoping for a 'stay of execution' again this month, though it does have a theme that I can recycle in the coming months.
