In case anyone is interested, The Spiderz (Colin, Robby and Tim's band) are playing an evening of David Bowie songs at the Sound House (at the back of The Bull) in Colchester on 26th February. www.facebook.com/thespiderz/?ref=bookmarks

Hi Tim. Kate and I are planning to come to The Spiderz Bowie gig, hopefully with a few others too. Do we need tickets? Some of you may remember the name David Stephenson. He is the guy that supplied the "Retro Modernist Shrouded Life" lyrics for May 2014. He has organised a "Beatnik Party" for Sat 5th March and asked me to let you all know about it. It will be a totally acoustic evening. If you would like to come along please do. Better still, if you would like to sing a couple of songs you are very welcome - just reply here and I'll let him know so he can add you to the bill. Mike and I will be there. His poster is attached. Karl, are you still looking for people to sign up for the acoustic evening? Robby and I have talked about going.

Hi Tim. I'm working away in Yorkshire this week with limited internet availability and have had trouble contacting David. My guess is "Yes", but best if you contact him directly to check when to arrive etc. His email is -
dgastephenson@btinternet.com
Hope to see you both there and chat about your Bull gig.

Thanks for Tim & Robbie coming along to support David's Acoustic Beatnik evening. Hope I did OK busking along on the Cajon drum. It was an interesting evening with plenty of variety - including poetry and hymns! I'll post here again if another event like this comes up (possibly next year) as it is a good opportunity to just turn up and play - no P.A. - and the event would definitely benefit from anyone who contributes to the SWC.

It was a lot of fun playing to a very forgiving audience and no hassle from a PA system. Very informal. A very nice evening. It may have been a good place to test some original songs instead of the Bowie songs we did.
You sell yourself short Karl, your input was greatly appreciated.
