Having read some of the threads, I have decided to put this one up early. Rules are as follows.
The song is restricted to four chords only.
The derivative chords can be used (for CMaj one could use C6, C7, CMaj7 etc) but if you've played CMajor, Cminor would be another chord.
We can make a case for diminished chords but I think it would be better if we avoided this grey area!!
The four chords can be used with a different bass note for variation.

Four chords, or just no more than four chords? Just in case anyone decides to do a Quo!

'The four chords can be used with a different bass note for variation' - you do know you've given us all carte blanche, doncha? With that rule, each chord can be seven different chords. And even better than that, they'll be just the kind of 'far out' chords that I'm supposed to be so fond of. Woo-hoo!

Just to be clear, when I say 'bass note' I mean 'note played on a bass instrument' not 'lowest note played on a guitar chord'. I suspect we all understand the spirit of the rules. It's four chords - choose wisely and in answer to Colin, if you choose to use one chord, that's absolutely fine also.
